1. Standard zoom lens with a highly practical focal range
This standard zoom lens covers the image circle of a 35mm full-frame image sensor, providing a focal length range from 28mm wide-angle to 105mm medium telephoto. Through the latest optical design and the use of numerous high-performance lenses, it effectively corrects various aberrations and ensures ample peripheral illumination. It fully leverages the capabilities of Pentax 35mm full-frame SLR cameras, enabling the output of ultra-high-definition images. With its convenient compact and lightweight design and excellent cost performance, it is an ideal everyday lens.

2. High descriptive performance compatible with 35mm full-frame digital SLR cameras
The lens consists of 15 elements in 11 groups, including two high-precision aspherical lenses, one Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element, and one anomalous dispersion glass element, which are effective in reducing chromatic aberration, resulting in clear depictions with suppressed spherical and chromatic aberrations. Furthermore, to accommodate large, high-pixel image sensors, the optical design offers high resolving power for detailed imaging.

3. "HD Coating Note 1" for enhanced descriptive performance
The lens features our proprietary high-performance multi-coating, "HD Coating." Compared to conventional multi-coatings, it has lower reflection and higher transmittance, suppressing ghosting and flare in challenging lighting conditions such as backlighting, and achieving clear depictions with high contrast.

4. Quick-Shift Focus System
The "Quick-shift Focus System" allows for manual focusing without any switching operation after autofocus achieves focus.

5. Weather-resistant construction
The lens features a weather-resistant construction with eight seals to prevent water droplets from entering the lens interior. When combined with our weather-resistant digital SLR bodies, it enhances reliability in rainy or foggy conditions and places where splashing water may occur.
