1. Adoption of "HD Coating Note 1" to enhance image rendition.
The coating of the highly acclaimed "smc PENTAX-FA35mmF2AL" has been completely revamped, and the latest high-performance multi-coating, "HD Coating," has been adopted. Compared to conventional multi-coatings, it has lower reflectivity and higher transmittance, suppressing ghosting and flare under challenging shooting conditions such as backlighting, and achieving clear images with high contrast.

Note 1: "HD" stands for High Definition.

2. Adoption of SP (Super Protect) coating for dirt resistance.
The front lens element features an SP (Super Protect) coating with high water and oil repellency, making it easy to wipe away dirt. This ensures worry-free use in outdoor shooting environments.

3. New design matching the latest camera models.
While maintaining the compact size of its predecessor, the "smc PENTAX-FA35mmF2AL," the design has been refreshed. With a new design that matches the latest DA and D FA lenses, it offers excellent compatibility with K-series digital SLR cameras, creating a compact prime lens. Furthermore, the retention of the aperture ring allows for the use of various functions on older K-mount digital SLR cameras and film SLR cameras, enabling enjoyment across a wide range of camera models.

4. Easy-to-use standard lens.
When mounted on our digital SLR cameras, it provides a semi-wide-angle 35mm lens on full-frame cameras, and a standard angle of view equivalent to 53.5mm in 35mm format on APS-C size cameras. As a standard lens that can shoot with an angle of view close to the natural human perspective, it is an optimal everyday lens suitable for various subjects such as snapshots, landscapes, and portraits. It also achieves a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m.

5. Compact design.
Weighing approximately 193g and with an overall length of 44.5mm, its compact design makes it easy to carry around and enjoy casual shooting.

6. Adoption of a hybrid aspherical lens.
