Whether you want to soak leisurely in an open-air bath, intensely "totonou" (achieve a state of deep relaxation) in a sauna, or sweat thoroughly in a bedrock bath, there's a facility to meet a variety of needs. This time, we will introduce 10 carefully selected super sento and natural hot spring facilities recommended in Saitama. Each facility is unique, and you're sure to find a favorite!

Saitama has many public baths!

Saitama Prefecture, while being part of a large metropolitan area with a population of approximately 7.5 million, also boasts many nature-rich areas slightly removed from the urban bustle, with abundant day-trip hot springs and super sento facilities throughout the prefecture. The major characteristics of Saitama's public bath scene are its easy accessibility from the Tokyo metropolitan area and its rich natural hot springs that well up from underground. Major areas such as Kawagoe, Tokorozawa, Soka, Kasukabe, Kumagaya, Fukaya, and Saitama City each have unique facilities, ranging from neighborhood public baths within walking distance of stations to mountain village-style hot spring resorts surrounded by nature. Prices generally start around 1,000 yen, making them affordable, and another appeal of Saitama's public baths is that many are multi-purpose facilities where you can enjoy bedrock baths, saunas, restaurants, and relaxation all at once. Many facilities also offer discounted rates on weekdays, making them popular among housewives and seniors. Saitama's public baths are not only used by locals daily but have also become established as "outing spots" where families and friends can spend half a day or more relaxing on weekends.
